Family Desperate for Answers as Missing Ipelegeng Woman Remains Untraced

The family of 52-year-old Kedisaletse Ditire from Ipelegeng’s Extension 5 say they are losing hope of finding her after she went missing nearly two months ago. Kedisaletse was last seen on Thursday, 29 May, near a farm along the R506 Christian Road, reportedly in the company of her boyfriend.

Despite extensive searches by the family and local authorities—including combing nearby farms—no trace of her has been found. A neighbor who spoke anonymously believes Kedisaletse’s boyfriend may know more about her disappearance, prompting the family to urge police to interrogate him further.

Boyfriend Arrested—But Not for Her Disappearance

Police confirmed that Kedisaletse’s partner was detained, but not in connection with her case. Instead, he was arrested for being an illegal immigrant in South Africa.

“I can confirm that the missing person’s case is still under investigation, and no arrests have been made related to her disappearance,” said a police spokesperson. “However, her boyfriend was interviewed, and it was discovered that he is a Namibian national unlawfully in the country. He remains in detention and is set to appear in court on 29 July.”

Family Fears the Worst

With no leads and fading hope, Kedisaletse’s loved ones are pleading for anyone with information to come forward.

“We just want to know what happened to her,” said a distraught family member. “We pray for her safe return, but after all this time, we also fear the worst.”

Authorities are continuing their investigation and urge anyone with information to contact the Schweizer-Reneke SAPS.
